What next for PCGS registry set?

A few months ago, PCGS attributed a 1926-d Three and a Half Legged buffalo nickel for the first time. More recently it was added to the coins required for the Buffalo Nickel Complete Variety registry set. One wonders how they decided to attribute the 1926-d 3hl since there are lots of other varieties they might have chosen. Leaving that issue aside, which varieties would you like to see PCGS attribute and add to their Buffalo Nickel Complete Variety set?
The CherryPicker’s Guide, Fourth Edition, Volume II, includes “Fivaz/Stanton Number Cross-Reference Chart” as Appendix K. It lists the new and old FS numbers for a large number of varieties, including a number of buffalo nickel varieties not included in Volume I and not included in the PCGS Buffalo Nickel Complete Variety set. I counted nine 2F, eleven No F, one 2F NoF, two 3HL, six DDO, three DDR, six RPM, and four OVM varieties that are not in the current set definition. These certainly are candidates to be included. And there are even more varieties listed in The Authoritative Reference on Buffalo Nickels and Buffalo NickelsĀ  – The Abraded Die Varieties. Some of these also should be candidates.

Which varieties would you like to see added? Please post a Comment, or feel free to start a new post if you have some images to include (I haven’t figured out how to allow images in Comments). I’ll post a Comment shortly.

    My recommendations:

Since PCGS added the 1926-D 3HL, they certainly should add the 1916-D 3HL.
    1916-D 3HL

Staying with Abraded Die Varieties, there are many more candidates. For Two Feathers adding all the “true” or “pure” 2Fs would make sense. Pope lists the following as “true” 2Fs that are not currently in the PCGS set:
    1915-D 2F
    1916-S 2F
    1919-D 2F
    1923 2F
    1929-S 2F

For Missing Initials/No F varieties, I don’t have any idea which to include.

For Doubled Dies, 1930 was a very productive year:) I think the following are all worthy of inclusion.
    1930 DDO 2-O-IV
    1930 DDO 4-O-IV
    1930 DDO 6-O-IV
    1930 DDO 7-O-IV
    1930-S DDO 1-O-VI

For Re-punched Mint Marks, I also have little idea where to begin. There are so many to choose from. I’ll recommend two.
1914-S/S (has a cute curve at the top)
1929-S/S rpm#4, with the original S way South (it looks impressive in the references)

For Over Mint Marks, some variations more of the 1938-D/S should be distinguished and recognized. How about adding:
    1938-D/S OMM#2
    1938-D/S OMM#3

That would be 15 additions. Which do you like and which others would you like to see added?
